Foundation, BB Cream, CC Cream…How’s a Girl to Choose!?
We’ve all been there. Staring blankly at the endless options of foundations, lotions and potions wondering which one will work best for our specific skin care needs. Well, we’re here to break it down for you so you’ll know what your best bet is next time you are in the market for foundation.
Foundation
If you have uneven skin tone, foundation is a great beauty tool to have on hand. You can find just about any shade imaginable and its thick consistency makes it great for covering up acne, dark under eye circles, and just about any other blemish or problem area you may have. There is also a wide range of coverage from sheer, light formulas to thick and rich. While many of us use our fingers or a makeup sponge to apply foundation, the best tool is actually a makeup brush specified for foundation.
BB Cream
BB creams are amazing! BB creams (aka beauty or blemish creams) are extremely popular in parts of Asia and have made their way to the US because of their rapid popularity. Not only do these miracle creams hydrate your skin, but they also balance out your skin tone and can hide blemishes. They also help fight aging because of their antioxidant ingredients and most contain SPF, protecting your delicate skin from the sun. BB cream is definitely lighter than your typical foundation. The downside? There aren’t many shades offered so it may be hard for some women to find a shade that works for them.
CC Cream
CC cream (color or complexion correcting cream) are more of a whipped texture and are by far the lightest formula out of the three mentioned here. While this is still considered makeup, it could be looked at as more of a skin treatment. If you are looking to even out blotchy, red skin, then this is for you! Makeup artists recommend that you use CC cream as a base before applying foundation. It is very hydrating and has great anti-aging ingredients and will even out your skin tone. Topping it off with a little bit of foundation will give you the perfect, flawless skin you are after.
