Keep Your Hands Soft This Winter

DIY hand mask for those cold winter months

Dry, cracked hands are often just accepted as something that happens during the cold winter months ranging from December to March. Not anymore my friends! The heat from the indoors combined with the harsh outdoor elements can turn your typically soft hands into rough sandpaper that is cracked and bleeding.

Here are some tips to try this winter to keep your hands soft and smooth along with a DIY mask for your hands for those times when the hand lotion simply isn’t cutting it.

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Add additional humidifiers in rooms that you frequent, such as your bedroom and living room.
  • Use gentle soaps because harsh soaps can be very damaging to your skin.
  • Make sure you are using a thick moisturizer. The hand lotion you used in the summer most likely won’t cut it in the winter. Trade in your light and airy lotion for one that is more heavy duty. Keep it handy so you can reapply it frequently throughout the day.
