My Hair Is So Dry! Help!

You probably ask yourself this question a lot: why is my hair so dry? There are a lot of factors that contribute to dry hair so let’s take a look at them and see what we can do about it.

Your Hair Products

Using hair products that are too stripping can lead to dryness, as can over-washing. Your hair has natural oils that keep it moisturized and when they are stripped, your hair is left majorly dried out. Try using hair products that replenish and rehydrate your hair. You may also want to try washing your hair every other day as to not strip those natural oils.

The Weather

As the cold weather sets in, it’s important to use a product that replaces the moisture and is long lasting. Try using Authentically Branded’s Leave-In Protein to rev up the moisture on a daily basis. You can also use Authentically Branded’s All Natural Treatment Oil if you have natural hair or if your hair needs even more moisture.

Your House

As the temperatures drop, the heat goes up in your house. The dry, excessive heat from the furnace can really dry out your skin and your hair. Try adding a humidifier by your bedside to replace some of that lost moisture.

Not Letting Conditioner Work Its Magic

When you apply your conditioner, don’t immediately rinse it out. It’s meant to nourish your hair and replenish the moisture so leave it on for several minutes before rinsing.

Using Heat Tools

Just like too much heat in your house dries out your hair, using too many heat tools also is drying. Damaged hair doesn’t retain moisture as good as healthy hair and you are causing further damage every time you use a hot tool. Try hard not to use them excessively and always, always, always use a heat protector, like Authentically Branded’s Thermal Styling Protectant Spray.
