So, You Fried Your Hair. Here’s How to Fix It.

Did you get a little over zealous with the flat iron? Did you take a vacation and stay out in the sun for days on end? Did you beg your stylist to dye your jet black hair platinum blonde? Whichever way you did it, you fried your hair. Lucky for you, there are some ways to fix that fried hair so let’s delve right in!

Before you read on, keep in mind that in order to fix your fried hair, you’re going to have to stay away from the hot tools (curling irons, flat irons, etc) as much as possible and also get your ends trimmed every 3-4 weeks.

The Easy Fix

Find yourself a good deep conditioner, like Authentically Branded’s Vanilla Bean Deep Conditioner. It will provide nourishment and will repair, condition, and soften even the most damaged hair. The organic blend of Hydrolyzed Keratin Protein, essential Fatty and Amino Acids will penetrate with its micro-nutrients to the core of your hair shaft.

To use, after shampooing, rinse and towel dry absorbing all excess moisture. Liberally apply and distribute evenly by massaging gently into your scalp and hair, focusing on the ends. Leave on for 5-7 minutes before rinsing. For deeper conditioning, you may use a plastic cap and apply heat for 15-20 minutes. Use up to twice a week.

The Complicated Fix

Make an ultra-deep conditioner. This is a hair recipe that has been shared by Jennifer Aniston’s hair stylist, Chris McMillan.

Step 1: In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons each of a rinse-out conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, a deep conditioner, and a hair mask.

Step 2: Work the mixture through clean, damp hair with a comb. Be sure to focus most of the product on mid-shaft down to the ends.

Step 3: Get two large towels wet and then wring them out. Heat one in a microwave for 1-2 minutes. Heat only until its steamy warm and still tolerable to the touch.

Step 4: Wrap hair up in the hot towel. In the meantime, heat the second towel in microwave.

Step 5: Alternate wrapping hair in towels about 2-3 times. This ultra-deep conditioner should be repeated once a week.

The Last Resort

Do the major trim and cut it off. Yes, it’s harsh, that’s why we call it the last resort. Cutting off damaged hair is the only way to 100% repair it. Then, moving forward, to keep hair in optimal shape, get a trim every month and skip using the hot tools and getting any processing done for quite some time.
