THINGS TO AVOID FOR GOOD SKIN

Having a hard time getting your skin to look its best? Here are 5 things you should never ever do if you want healthy, glowing, amazing looking skin.

Don’t Smoke

It’s no hidden fact: smoking totally ruins your skin. There’s no sugar coating it. It rids the skin of nutrients and oxygen which makes your skin look yellow and leathery as time goes on. When you smoke, you are also likely to develop wrinkles around your eyes and also fine lines around your mouth. Smoke breaks down collagen and elastin in the skin, which results in skin sagging. The impact smoking has not only on your health but also on your skin is not pretty so it’s best to stop that bad habit.

Don’t Over Exfoliate

Exfoliating can be a sure way to make your skin look fresh and vibrant because you are eliminating that top dry layer of skin. However, is you exfoliate too much or too harshly, you’re doing more damage than good. If you exfoliate more than twice per week, your skin may become irritated and itchy, rather than radiant and beautiful.

Don’t Go to Sleep With Your Makeup On

Not washing your face at night is a sure way to age your skin. When you don’t thoroughly remove your makeup and get all of the day’s dirt and grime off of your face before hitting the hay, you are leaving your pores susceptible to becoming clogged, which leads to breakouts. Leaving the days pollutants on your skin leads to the formation of free radicals and these free radicals break down the collagen and elastin in your skin.

Don’t Skip the Sunscreen

One of the easiest, sure fire ways to ruin your skin is to skip the sunscreen. Just because you don’t get a sunburn, doesn’t mean your skin didn’t suffer from UV rays and get damaged. UV rays break down the collagen in your skin, cause hyperpigmentation (dark spots), lead to wrinkles and fine lines, and in some people, even cause skin cancer. Applying sunscreen on a daily basis takes almost no time to do and will have a huge positive impact on your appearance as well as your health.

Don’t Cheat Yourself on Your Sleep

When you skip getting enough zzzz’s, your skin pays the price. You could get dark circles under your eyes, dull skin, and even make skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema worse. Stay rested and go to bed a little earlier!
